Living Green Expo Coordinator, Minnesota Environmental Partnership
Minnesota Environmental Partnership (MEP) is seeking a full-time, year round coordinator for the annual Living Green Expo (LGE). We are launching our second Living Green Expo and are seeking a full time individual to lead this evolving effort.
Reports to: Steve Morse, Executive Director
Application Deadline: Application review will begin on August 20 – position will remain open until filled.
Compensation: Dependent upon qualifications
Duties:
In conjunction with event production company, LGE Stewardship Council and MEP member organizations and staff, the LGE coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of annual two-day event as well as year round communication with exhibitors, sponsors and stakeholders. Specific duties include:
- Coordinating and running meetings of the LGE Stewardship Council;
- Overseeing vetting process of all sponsors, exhibitors and workshops;
- Soliciting sponsors of the event;
- Soliciting and coordinating exhibitors;
- Soliciting and coordinating event programming;
- Developing and managing event database;
- Gathering content for, producing and distributing monthly email newsletter – Living Green Everyday;
- Acting as media contact for press inquiries about event;
- Developing, coordinating and managing vendor and member contracts to conduct LGE activities;
- And, other duties associated with LGE as they arise.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of issues related to sustainability;
- Experience organizing and coordinating large, innovative, educational and creative events;
- Familiarity with state environmental organizations;
- Creativity and the ability to excel in a dynamic, changing environment.
- High level organizational skills;
- Experience with meeting facilitation and project management;
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills;
- Self-motivation and initiative as well as ability and eagerness to work as part of a team;
- Excellent database skills;
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office programs; and
- Familiarity with the Living Green Expo a plus.

SEEKING DYNAMIC FEMALE LANDSCAPER/LANDSCAPE DESIGNER FOR NATIONAL TELEVISION PROJECT
Los Angeles, CA, August 4, 2010 – Los Angeles-based television production company, Red Varden Studios, is currently casting nationwide for an experienced, charismatic, and television-friendly female landscaper, landscape designer, exterior designer or someone with expertise in gardens, pools, decking, gazebos, barbecues, etc. for a national television project. Candidates must have verifiable experience in their field and a desire to be featured on national television. Preferred backgrounds for potential landscapers include: general landscaping, landscape architecture/artistry/design, outdoor refurbishing, and horticulture. Red Varden Studios is seeking someone who is outgoing, engaging, and eager to help people beautify their backyards. On camera experience is not required. However, candidates must be comfortable in front of the camera and interacting with others.

Visting Contract Faculty Position
Department of Landscape Architecture
Ball State University
Muncie, Indiana
Contract faculty position available August 20, 2010. Responsibilities: teaching landscape architecture courses at inter-disciplinary, undergraduate and graduate professional program levels, scholarly activities; service.
Minimum qualifications: 1) terminal professional degree in landscape architecture OR terminal degree in an allied profession OR BLA degree in landscape architecture from an accredited program in landscape architecture with contiguous professional practice as a licenses landscape architect at senior level for at least five years; 2) demonstrate capability to teach in design studio; developed expertise/capacity to teach in at least two of the following support areas of expertise plant identification, site engineering/construction technologies; design communications (digital and hand-drawn techniques); digital applications, including GIS; research and design methodologies; history and design theory; and design implementation; 3) demonstrate capability to engage in the scholarship of the discipline and profession. Preferred qualifications: Ph.D. in landscape architecture or related discipline with an established research agenda; ten years of experience in landscape architectural practice (public or private); expertise in plant materials and digital media; studio teaching experience in an accredited landscape architecture program.
