Adam Regn Arvidson, ASLA Awarded Bradford Williams Medal by the
American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA)
Washington, DC – Adam Regn Arvidson, ASLA, Owner and Principal of Treeline, a design and writing consultancy in Minneapolis, MN, has been awarded the Bradford Williams Medal by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA). Arvidson was presented with the medal at the 2009 Annual ASLA convention in Chicago on September 21, 2009.
The Bradford Williams Medal is the highest award for landscape architectural writing in the United States. It is an annual award that is conferred on two individuals in recognition of superior writing for ASLA’s publication Landscape Architecture Magazine (LAM). Nominations are made by LAM readers and ASLA members. The medal is awarded based on the following four criteria: accurate, evocative writing, placement of topic in a larger context, potential for effecting positive change, and cumulative contributions to the magazine.
Adam Arvidson was recognized for a series of articles on landscape architecture in the Midwest, including projects in Chicago, Indianapolis, and Michigan. From the outset of his career, Arvidson has written extensively on landscape architecture for a variety of national and international publications. In addition, he serves as the editor of the Minnesota Chapter’s publication _SCAPE. Under Arvidson’s direction. _SCAPE has become the premier publication on landscape architecture in the state. He is also a practicing landscape architect, with projects throughout Minnesota and the upper Midwest.
Arvidson earned his bachelor of landscape architecture from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana in 1997.
