Artist Statement:
This is a photograph of the boat slip at Mayowood Lake, designed by Charles Mayo circa 1930.  It is located off the lower road and adjacent to the remains of the original dam for the lake. I am struck by this photograph in the way it captures the sublimity of the present day landscape.  The lush green and the filtered light add to this feeling as you enter this site off the lower road.

Artist statement:
The Lake picture has beautiful reflections and atmospheric haze. I love the spare color palette; the white sky allows attention to be focused on the end of summer colors in the vegetation.  This photo was taken on a warm, slightly hazy day in September in Silver Lake Park off of East Silver Lake Drive. The photos are not high resolution, as I was on a site visit and not a photography expedition, but the lack if crispness adds to the impressionistic quality.
